clips(4), paddle brush or close to paddle brush with enough tension to smooth dry(boar bristles), hair dryer, flat iron.
Tools & Skills is a presentation designed to equip you with hair cutting tool knowledge. We will go in depth about various topics that include
- which tools are efficient when designing a haircut
-how to keep your posture in good form for your longevity behind the chair
-developing your cutting hands and exercises so that cutting hair becomes natural and accurate for you.
Combine this class the “Lines” workshop and you would be setting up your hair cutting career with the strongest foundation possible.
Follow your guide, cut a straight line! It sounds easy enough right? Do you follow your guide the same from a blunt line to a texture line? What about different hair textures? Who even wants a straight blunt perimeter in the back anymore?
How many different lines can be cut other then wet blunt? These are questions that motivated us to create this experience, in this workshop we structured a one length hair cut and use that as the foundation to practice all the different line techniques like feather, sliding when dry or carving and razoring when wet. It is necessary to complete our tools and skills class to enjoy these exercises. As colorist express with tones, we as hair cutters show our signature with the lines throughout our haircut.
Tools we will play with include - Razor that can take the feather brand guarded razor, 2 cutting combs, 6 clips, wet shears, dry slide shears, thinning shears, chunky shears, blow dryer, smoothing brush(paddle recommended), flat iron optional.
